Terms of service

The terms governing your membership. Last updated 27 June 2026.

The core promise. Saath is not insurance and pays out no money. It is a prepaid membership that delivers services — counselling first, then capped legal and support help — when a marriage hits trouble.

1. Nature of the service

Saath provides a services-only, no-cash-payout membership. The benefit is access to counselling and, where applicable, capped legal-support services. No monetary benefit is payable under any circumstances, including divorce.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information. Phone verification by OTP is required. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. A family member may purchase a membership for a beneficiary; in that case the named beneficiary is the member and client of services.

3. Membership, tiers & waiting period

Benefits, session allowances and legal-hour caps depend on your tier (Essentials, Plus, Concierge) and are described on the Plans page. A waiting period applies before benefits activate, to prevent purchase during an active crisis. The safety carve-out (Section 6) bypasses the waiting period.

4. The two-stage model

Support is sequenced reconciliation-first, legal-second. Stage 1 is counselling. Stage 2 (legal) is available only where reconciliation genuinely fails, is subject to hard caps on scope and hours, and is delivered by an independent panel lawyer. Work beyond the cap is offered on a referral-with-discount basis.

5. The confidentiality wall

Counselling and legal are delivered by separate professionals on separate systems. Information shared in counselling cannot be accessed in any legal matter. By using Saath you acknowledge and rely on this separation, and the non-member spouse must accept confidentiality terms before joining any session.

6. Safety carve-out

A mandatory safety screen runs at intake and may be triggered at any time. Where abuse, violence or dowry harassment is indicated, the case bypasses reconciliation and routes to protection and appropriate authorities, regardless of tier, cost or waiting period. Saath will never pressure any member to remain in an unsafe situation.

7. Professionals

Counsellors and lawyers are independent, credential-checked panel members. They are bound by a code of conduct and a confidentiality undertaking. Saath facilitates matching and scheduling and is not a substitute for independent professional or legal advice in every circumstance.

8. Payments & renewals

Fees are billed via Razorpay on your chosen cadence (monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly). Failed renewals enter a grace period before lapse. See the Refund policy for cancellations and refunds.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the platform, impersonate others, or use the service for unlawful purposes. Abuse of professionals or fair-use limits may result in suspension.

10. Limitation of liability

Saath provides access to services and facilitation. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for outcomes of counselling, mediation or legal matters, which depend on many factors outside our control. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India.
